Repair ibook [Mac]
現在Sling Player用になっているibook-G3。以前からLCDモニターがグラグラしてます。
液晶の周りのUの字型のアルミフレームが折れて片側だけで支えている状態。
修理に出したら高そうなので、液晶が割れるのを心配しながら、そおーっと開け閉めしてました。
ところが「iFixit」というサイト／ショップを発見。パーツ販売とバラし方も載ってます。
さすがDIYの国！Well...I fix it!! 無性に直したくなってきました。
「Clutch hinges」を購入し、とりあえずモニター周辺からバラします。
予想はしてましたがやはり本体もバラさないといけないようです。
磁石の下のネジとDVDドライブを開けて見えるネジにつまづきましたが、「Free Fixit Guides」などをみて
ドンドン進みます。
アルミ(マグ合金？)のフレームがヒンジの近くで割れています。
たったこれだけの事ですが交換は大変。
凄い事になってきましたが後には引けません。
無事フレーム交換。
折角なのでHDDも交換しようと思い、開腹したまま放置しFry's(電気店)に探しに行きました。
しかし、P-ATA(IDE)は少なく160GB以上しか売っていない!
他の店でもS-ATAばかりで見つかりそうにありません。
しかたなくibookは元に戻し、インターネットでHitachiの120GBを注文。
しかし、しばらくして在庫が無いとの連絡。他メーカーの120GBでも良いと伝えましたが結局見つからず。キャンセルして他のサイトで注文したらこんどはいきなり160GBが届いた。
「G3ibookに160GBは使えない」と伝えたら、「在庫がないので160GBにフリーアップグレードした」とのこと。トホホ。
他メーカーの120GBも無いというし、英語でのやり取りにも疲れたし・・・
ふと、昔買った外付け80GB HDDを思い出して開けてみたらP-ATA！玉突きができる！
ネジの位置を覚えている間にもう一度開腹。二回目は早いです。ちなみに左に置いてある接着剤用ヘラがカバーを外すのに役に立ちました。
めでたくibookは30GBから80GBへ。30GBと160GBも外付けUSBで使用できるようにしました。
